Getting Technology Support

As of July 1, 2017, UW-IT is the provider of all IT support for UW Extension. Personnel with technology questions, support needs, website issues, etc. should contact UW-IT using the following guidelines:

For Extension employees with UW email addresses/IDs:
For Extension employees WITHOUT UW email addresses/IDs:
  • You must contact the UW-IT Help Desk by phone at (307) 766-4357 or email at userhelp@uwyo.edu.

Acquiring New Equipment 

Once you have received approval to purchase new technology equipment, you can request a quote from UW-IT by doing the following:

For Extension employees with UW email addresses/IDs:
For Extension employees WITHOUT UW email addresses/IDs:
  • You must contact the UW-IT Help Desk by phone at (307) 766-4357 or email at userhelp@uwyo.edu.

Acquiring Software

For Extension employees with UW email addresses/IDs:
  • Granting software download access is a manual process that is done by UW-IT during normal business hours. Once access has been granted an email will be sent to your UW email account with instructions. For Extension employees WITHOUT UW email addresses/IDs:
  • You must contact the UW-IT Help Desk by phone at (307) 766-4357 or email at userhelp@uwyo.edu. If an installation disk must be mailed to you, please have your office mailing address ready.

Surplus Property Disposal

Completely fill out the Surplus Property Disposal Request Form before sending surplus equipment to campus. Surplus Property employees will sanitize hard drives or destroy the hard drive based on the condition of the equipment.

  1. Ensure the form is completely filled out, including the “Date available for pick up” prior to its arrival on campus.
  2. The contact person will be Cathy Shuster (shu@uwyo.edu).
  3. Attach an approved completed form to the equipment.
  4. The equipment will be placed in Ag C Room 36 for pick up.
