Geodome build workshop
Workshop- Geodome Build Workshop
Participants in this hands-on workshop will learn howto build a 14-foot-diametergeodesic dome designedfor season extension. JeffEdwards will walk studentsthrough identifying andassembling the components,understanding the structuralfunction, and discussingpractical managementstrategies to protect cropsand extend the growingseason. All participantswill be entered into araffle to receive the domeconstructed during theworkshop. The dome willbe disassembled, and thewinner will be responsible fortransporting the structureand completing assembly ontheir own property. Step-by-step DIY Geodesic domeconstruction manuals will beavailable at the conference.

Apple Grafting workshop
Workshop- Apple Grafting Workshop
In this workshop will delveinto the science of apple treegrafting. Participants will beprovided with apple scionand root stock to graft theirown tree to plant at home.Workshop attendees will alsobe provided with a take-home grafting kit to continuetheir grafting journey in thefuture.
Note: The easiest way to get to PREC from Powell is to turn on Absaroka (becomes Road 9). Follow it north until you get to PREC. There is a University of Wyoming sign out front on the right side of the road. Park in the gravel lot.

Canning Basics in Action: Pressure Canning and Water Bath Methods
Workshop- Canning Basics in Action
This hands-on class teaches safe pressure canning and boiling water canning techniques through the preparation of pressure-canned carrots and boiling water–canned raspberry chocolate sundae topping. The $30 fee includes all supplies and focuses on using approved food safety methods and proper equipment.

Heart Mountain Museum Tour
Tour- Heart Mountain Museum
During this tour, we will visit the Heart Mountain Museum with a focus on how produce was grown and stored at the site. Participants are responsible for their own transportation and should arrive ready to begin at 2:00 pm. The tour will start inside the museum near the entrance and will include a 15-minute introduction to the site’s history followed by a 15-minute film.
If weather permits, we will then travel to the large root cellar located down the road, where produce was historically stored. At the root cellar, participants will learn more about the agricultural activities that took place at the site. If weather or other circumstances prevent us from visiting the root cellar, additional information about this aspect of life will be shared while touring the museum exhibits in the main building.
Participants are welcome to remain at the museum after the tour concludes and explore until closing time at 5:00 pm. Those planning to visit the root cellar should dress appropriately for the weather and wear sturdy footwear suitable for uneven ground. Be prepared for walking and standing for extended periods. There are no restroom or facility amenities available at the root cellar site.
