Heart Mountain Museum Tour
Tour- Heart Mountain Museum
During this tour, we will visit the Heart Mountain Museum with a focus on how produce was grown and stored at the site. Participants are responsible for their own transportation and should arrive ready to begin at 2:00 pm. The tour will start inside the museum near the entrance and will include a 15-minute introduction to the site’s history followed by a 15-minute film.
If weather permits, we will then travel to the large root cellar located down the road, where produce was historically stored. At the root cellar, participants will learn more about the agricultural activities that took place at the site. If weather or other circumstances prevent us from visiting the root cellar, additional information about this aspect of life will be shared while touring the museum exhibits in the main building.
Participants are welcome to remain at the museum after the tour concludes and explore until closing time at 5:00 pm. Those planning to visit the root cellar should dress appropriately for the weather and wear sturdy footwear suitable for uneven ground. Be prepared for walking and standing for extended periods. There are no restroom or facility amenities available at the root cellar site.
