This program which seeks to bring agriculture producers, veterinarians, rural landowners, and agencies together for planning will address county specific risks including wildfires, floods, blizzards, disease outbreak, and livestock transportation accidents. County Emergency Managers are looking forward to the having access to the expertise brought forward by agriculture producers and livestock owners.
The program is supported by a USDA National Institute of Food and Agriculture Special Needs grant acquired by the UW Extension Disaster Education Team. The program will reach into all five regions of the state as well as Colorado and Montana over three years. With an eye on sustainability the Wyoming Stockgrower’s Association, the Wyoming Woolgrower’s Association and a number of Farm Bureau Chapters are supporting the program.
