Description:
Hummingbirds provide viewing enjoyment for people of all ages. In Wyoming, these tiny, iridescent birds can be a unique wildlife addition to a home, ranch, or farm with just a little pre-season planning. Of the 340 species of hummingbirds known around the world, there are three commonly observed species in Wyoming: the rufus, broad-tailed, and calliope. This bulletin describes the three species in detail, reveals interesting facts about hummingbirds in general, discusses behavioral patterns and habitat requirements, and offers feeding tips.
