Description:
Conservation easements are voluntary agreements that protect resources by limiting future development of land. They can be used to ensure continued agricultural production of land or to protect wildlife habitat and natural areas, historic structures, or open spaces and views. In the rural West, including Wyoming, the purpose of many conservation easements is to protect the land's agricultural use and open space. Conservation Easements: An Introductory Review for Wyoming explains the many issues pertaining to conservation easements and what effect they have on landowners and on the preservation of state lands. Different types of easements are discussed along with financial considerations, laws, and common questions.
