Wyoming began as a proactive leader in its approach to greater sage-grouse conservation in July 2000 when the Wyoming Sage-Grouse Working Group was formed to develop a statewide strategy for conservation of sage-grouse in Wyoming. Futuristic thinking and planning has occurred on public, state, and privately owned lands and many products demonstrate Wyoming’s landscape approach to greater sage-grouse management and conservation.
