Local residents can rent raised beds to grow fresh vegetables, fruits, herbs, and flowers, including pollinators. There are 30 raised beds, and there is a nominal fee to rent beds for the growing season, which helps offset maintenance and water. Because of the success of the garden, additional raised beds were constructed in 2024.
“The garden is very popular. We usually have people on a waiting list,” says Town of Dayton assistant clerk Janet Winfrey. The garden is a collaborative effort between the Town of Dayton and community residents.
