WHI has instituted programs that support local organizations and networks through the form of infrastructure grants, as well as programs such as Grow A Little Extra (see listing above) and others that aim to help residents in need, including children.

The Grow A Little Extra program—started by Wyoming First Lady Jennie Gordon—is ‘taking root’ across Wyoming. Gardeners and producers are encouraged to produce extra vegetables, fruits, and other foods that can be donated to people in need through the Wyoming Hunger Initiative, which has a goal to prevent food insecurity across the state.
