Grazing Permit Renewal Workshop

 Who: Ranch owners and managers, federal grazing permit holders, local policy makers

 Cost: $10 per person. Lunch and refreshments will be provided. 

 This workshop will provide practical guidance for navigating the permit renewal process and understanding how you can be involved in it. Gain the tools to know what to do, and who you can call when you don’t!

Speakers and Topics:

Dick Loper (Policy Consultant), Understanding the permit renewal process and how to participate-Wyoming Department of Agriculture, Nuts and bolts of NEPA and permit renewal

Producer Perspective, Local producers explain what they have learned about how to get involved

Glenn Owings (UW Extension), The role of cooperative permittee monitoring in permit renewal

Karen Budd-Falen (Budd-Falen Law Offices), A legal overview of permit renewal

Mae Smith, moderator (UW Extension), A multi-agency panel including the BLM, US Forest Service, WY Department of Agriculture, Washakie County Conservation District, and others
