Helping Families Eat Better for Less

Community Change

A participant works in the new Natrona County CNP raised beds.

The healthy choice should be the easy choice – for ALL families. Statewide, the Cent$ible Nutrition Program is seeking out new opportunities to promote policy, system, and environmental changes in the community. We hope these changes will increase access to healthy foods and physical activity for everyone. You can learn more about CNP’s community change projects on the CNP Community Engagement & Outreach page.

This summer, Natrona County CNP will be once again be growing in the UW Extension Master Gardener community garden, but this time they will be using raised beds. The raised beds will provide learning opportunities for a variety of CNP classes and the produce will be used in CNP classes, donated to local food pantries, and given to community members who use their SNAP Benefits at the farmers’ market this summer.

Natrona County CNP educators plant in a raised bed.

Like last summer, CNP will be working with other gardeners in the UW Extension Master Gardener community garden to donate produce. Last summer, CNP and other gardeners in the UW Extension Master Gardener community garden donated 274 pounds of produce to local food pantries.

If you are interested in working together to promote healthy change in the Natrona County community, please contact the Natrona County CNP educators!!
