Ice Cream-in-a-Bag
Make your own ice cream without special equipment or ingredients. Use your favorite fruits or try new flavor combinations.

Ingredients
- ¼ cup sugar
- 2 Tablespoons sugar
- 1 ¼ cups low-fat milk
- ½ teaspoon vanilla
- 1 cup sliced fruit (bananas, berries, peaches, pineapple, etc.)
- Rock Salt
- Crushed ice
- 2 quart-size freezer bags
- 2 gallon-size freezer bags
- Towel
Instructions
- Put sugar, milk, vanilla, and fruit into a quart sized freezer bag. Seal tightly and shake to mix the ingredients together.
- Place inside another quart sized bag then place inside a gallon bag.
- Layer ice and salt around the quart sized bag. Seal the gallon bag and place inside another gallon bag. Seal.
- Wrap a towel around the bags to keep your hands from getting too cold. Shake the mixture for 20-25 minutes or until ice cream is at desired consistency.
