Instructions
Prepare the Mix
Remix the Palouse Soup Mix. (1 cup of mix makes 4 servings of prepared soup)
Prepare the Soup
In a saucepan, combine 1 cup mix, onion, carrots, and 4 cups water.
Add 1 cup cooked, chopped meat if desired.
Add one or more of the seasoning options listed in the Palouse Soup Mix recipe. Season to taste.
Bring mixture to a boil. Reduce heat to low and cover. Simmer
45-55 minutes
or until split peas and lentils are tender.

Minestrone Soup: Combine 1 cup mix with one 15-ounce can of stewed tomatoes, 2-3 cups water, 1 chopped onion, 2 chopped carrots, 1-2 chopped potatoes, and 1 teaspoon oregano. For additional flavor add 1/4 salt, 1 bouillon cube, 1 teaspoon basil, and/or 2 garlic cloves, chopped (1 tsp minced or 1/2 tsp powder). Cook as directed above.
