Breakfast Bars

Bake these bars ahead of time so your family has a healthy breakfast on busy weekday mornings. This recipe uses Master Mix, an all-purpose baking mix you can make ahead of time and store for use in many of our recipes.

Ingredients
 

  • 1 ½ cups CNP Master Mix
  • cups quick oats
  • ¼ cup canola oil
  • ¾ cup brown sugar
  • ¼ cup unsweetened applesauce
  • 1 egg
  • ½ teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 cup total optional add ins (dried fruit, chopped nuts, coconut flakes, chocolate chips)

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 350°F.
  • Combine all ingredients in a large bowl.
  • Stir just until dough is crumbly. Fold in 1 cup total of add-ins.
  • Press the mixture into an ungreased 8x8 or 9x9-inch baking pan.
  • Bake at 350°F for 20 minutes or until the center is set and the bars are slightly brown. Cool for 10 minutes before cutting into bars.

Notes

  • Cut and individually wrap in plastic while the bars are warm for an easy on the go snack.
