CNP Spice Rub
This spice rub works well on meat or roasted vegetables. Spice mixes can be expensive at the store and often include added sodium.

Ingredients
- 2 Tablespoons paprika
- 1 Tablespoon salt
- 1 Tablespoon onion powder
- 1 Tablespoon garlic powder
- 1 Tablespoon ground black pepper
- 1 teaspoon chili powder
- 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1 Tablespoon cayenne pepper or crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
Instructions
- Combine all ingredients in a small bowl, jar, or plastic bag. Mix well.
- Store in a tightly sealed container. Label and date. Keep in a cool, dry place for up to 6 months.
Notes
- Use to prepare ‘blackened’ meat, fish, game meat, or poultry. Rub seasoning on thawed meat. Let it sit in the refrigerator for a few hours or overnight. Cook over high heat.
- Sprinkle over grilled or roasted vegetables.
