Garlic Ginger Marinade

This basic recipe pairs with beef, pork, poultry, and vegetables.

Ingredients
 

  • 2 Tablespoons vinegar
  • ½ teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1 garlic clove, minced (or ½ teaspoon minced or ¼ teaspoon powder)
  • 2 Tablespoons brown sugar
  • ½ cup soy sauce
  • ¼ cup canola oil

Instructions
 

  • Mix together all ingredients in a large bowl.
  • Trim and prepare food. For meat, remove visible fat. For vegetables, wash and peel (if desired). Cut or slice food as desired.
  • Add prepared food to the bowl of marinade. Mix thoroughly so food is completely coated with marinade.
  • Cover bowl tightly and refrigerate for a few hours or overnight.
  • When ready to cook, throw away used marinade. Cook as desired. If basting during cooking, use fresh marinade.
