Homemade Granola
Make your own granola for an always fresh, reduced sugar treat. This granola works well in many of our recipes.

Ingredients
- 6 cups old-fashioned rolled oats
- 1/4 cup sunflower seeds
- 2 Tablespoons canola oil
- 3/4 cup honey
- 1 Tablespoon vanilla
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 300°F.
- In a large bowl, combine oats and sunflower seeds.
- Combine oil, honey, and vanilla in a saucepan and heat slightly.
- Pour oil mixture over dry ingredients. Mix thoroughly.
- Pour mix into two 9x13-inch baking pans.
- Bake at 300°F for 15-20 minutes, stirring halfway through.
- Remove from the oven when lightly toasted throughout.
- Cool, stir, and store in a tightly sealed container.
Notes
- Electric Skillet Cooking: Follow the steps above. Set temperature to 275°F on the electric skillet. Cook for 15-20 minutes, stirring halfway through the cooking time.
- Add Dried Fruit: Add 3/4 cup dried raisins, cherries, prunes, apricots, apples, or other dried fruit of your choice. Fold in immediately after removing granola from oven.
- Add Nuts: Add 1/4 cup chopped almonds, pecans, walnuts, peanuts, or a combination before cooking.
