Vinegar Marinade

Vinegar helps oil marinate meat more quickly. Use this recipe on meats for grilling or broiling.

Ingredients
 

  • ¼ cup vinegar or lime juice
  • ½ cup canola or olive oil
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • ¼ teaspoon salt

Instructions
 

  • Mix together all ingredients in a large bowl.
  • Trim and prepare food. For meat, remove visible fat. For vegetables, wash and peel (if desired). Cut or slice food, if desired.
  • Add prepared food to the bowl of marinade. Mix thoroughly so food is completely coated with marinade.
  • Cover bowl tightly and refrigerate for a few hours or overnight.
  • When ready to cook, throw away used marinade. Cook as desired. If basting during cooking, use fresh marinade.
