Hummus
This recipe is easy to make and less expensive than store-bought hummus brands. Try it with your favorite vegetables.

Ingredients

15-ounce can
canned chickpeas or garbanzo beans
½
teaspoon
garlic powder
or 2 chopped cloves or 1 tsp minced
2
teaspoons
cumin
1
Tablespoon
olive oil

Tablespoon
lemon juice
⅛
teaspoon
salt
optional
Instructions
Drain chickpeas and save the liquid.
Mash chickpeas with a large spoon, potato masher, hand mixer, blender, or food processor until smooth.
Add seasonings. Mix until blended. If hummus is too thick, add a little saved liquid or water.
Serve with whole-grain crackers, vegetables sticks, or tortilla chips.
