Cereal Snack Mix

With whole-grains and a bit of spice, this snack mix is a healthier alternative to store-bought mixes. You have control over the seasonings, and the whole-grain cereals add fiber to your diet.

Ingredients
 

  • 2 Tablespoons canola oil
  • 2 ½ cups assorted whole-grain cereals (unsweetened)
  • ½ to 1 cup assorted nuts
  • ¼ teaspoon onion powder
  • teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 ¼ teaspoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 250°F.
  • Add oil to the bottom of large baking pan.
  • Pour in cereal and nuts. Stir well to so pieces are coated with oil.
  • Sprinkle on seasonings. Stir well again. Spread evenly in pan.
  • Bake uncovered at 250°F for 20-30 minutes or until cereal begins to brown. Serve warm or cool.
  • Store cooled mixture in tightly closed container.
  • To re-crisp, heat in oven at 250°F for a few minutes.

Variation
Change Flavor: replace all spices with 1 Tablespoon of your favorite CNP Seasoning.
