Homemade Salsa

Ingredients
 

  • 1 cup tomato (finely chopped)
  • ½ cup tomato sauce
  • ¼ cup chopped onion (finely chopped)
  • ½ cup Green Pepper (finely chopped)
  • 2 Tablespoons vinegar or lemon juice
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder (or 1 tsp minced or 2 cloves chopped)
  • 1-3 jalapeño peppers (chopped)
  • ½ cup chopped cilantro (optional)

Instructions
 

  • Chop all vegetables.
  • Mix all the ingredients together in a glass bowl. Use gloves when chopping the jalapeño pepper and use caution to not rub your eyes. Wash your hands thoroughly after handling the peppers.
  • Refrigerate salsa for at least one hour before serving to allow all flavors to blend.

Notes

  • Try this salsa on omelettes, scrambled eggs, burritos, quesadillas, chicken tortilla soup, wraps, or as a salad topping.
