CNP Master Mix Cheese Pizza

This pizza uses CNP Master Mix, a basic baking mix you can make ahead of time and store. The whole-grain flour adds fiber to this meal. Serve this pizza with a green salad, a glass of milk, and a piece of fruit for a complete MyPlate meal.

Ingredients
 

  • 1 ⅓ cup CNP Master Mix
  • 2 Tablespoons canola oil
  • ¼ to ⅓ cup water
  • 1 8-ounce can tomato sauce
  • 1 cup CNP Meat Sauce
  • 1 small onion, minced (or 1 Tablespoon instant minced onion)
  • 1 garlic clove (or ½ tsp minced or ¼ tsp powder)
  • 1 teaspoon CNP Italian Seasoning
  • 1 cup low-fat mozzarella cheese (shredded)
  • grated Parmesan or Romano cheese (optional)
  • nonstick spray

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 425°F. Spray a baking sheet (any size) with nonstick spray.
  • Combine CNP Master Mix with enough water to make a soft dough. Knead in the bowl 12 times.
  • Roll or pat out on baking sheet. Bake at 425°F for 8-10 minutes or until partially baked and starting to brown. Reduce heat to 375°F and remove crust from the oven.
  • Mix tomato sauce, CNP Meat Sauce, onion, and spices. Spread over partially baked crust. Sprinkle with cheeses.
  • Bake at 375°F for 10-15 minutes or until topping is hot and crust is brown.

Variation
  • Favorite Toppings: before adding cheese, add your favorite pizza toppings (green bell peppers, mushrooms, olives, pepperoni, sliced onion, etc.) then add the cheese.
