Oven Fries

Oven fries are a great alternative to fast food fries or bagged potato chips. You can cut them into round chips or long strips. Try using eggplant, sweet potatoes, or summer squash.

Ingredients
 

  • 3 medium baking potatoes
  • 2 Tablespoons canola oil
  • 1 Tablespoons CNP Seasonings (or 1-2 Tbsp of your favorite spices)
  • dash of salt
  • Nonstick spray

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 400°F. Spray a baking sheet (any size) with nonstick spray.
  • Wash potatoes and cut into strips or wedges.
  • Toss potato pieces in a bowl with oil, spices and salt.
  • Spread pieces on baking sheet.
  • Bake at 400°F for 20 minutes or until brown.

Notes

  • Cut thinner strips for crispier fries.
 
Variations -
  • Italian Fries: Add 2 tsp CNP Italian Seasoning.
 
  • Mexican Fries: Add 1 tsp CNP Mexican Seasoning.
 
  • Ranch Fries: Add 1 tsp CNP Herb Ranch Seasoning and 1 Tbsp grated Parmesan cheese.
 
  • Sweet Potato Fries: Cut 2 large sweet potatoes into 1/2-inch strips. Toss with 1 tsp thyme and 1/2 tsp rosemary. Bake at 450°F about 30 minutes. Add salt and black pepper to taste.
 
  • Vegetable Fries: Replace potatoes with parsnips, rutabagas, and/or turnips.
