Pork and hot peppers make a delicious homemade version of chili.

Ingredients
 

  • 1 pound lean pork
  • 6 Tablespoons flour
  • 1 Tablespoon canola oil
  • 1 small onion (diced)
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced (or 1 teaspoon powder)
  • 1 4-ounce can green chiles (drained and chopped)
  • 1 15-ounce can tomatoes (undrained)
  • 4 cups water
  • black pepper to taste

Instructions
 

  • Cut up pork and lightly coat with flour.
  • Heat oil over medium-high heat in skillet or electric skillet. Add pork and cook until browned on all sides.
  • Add onions and garlic. Cook until brown.
  • Add jalapeño, tomatoes with liquid, water, and black pepper. Simmer for 1 hour.
