Minutes from March 13th meeting-
Walker creek 4H met at 6:00pm at the Werner’s home on March 13th. We discussed the February community of passing out valentines to the residents of riverside plaza. In total the club passed out 47 valentines. Ideas were gathered for a county fair club activity and doing demonstrations in classrooms in may to increase 4H involvement. In April we will be meeting at the Booth residence. In celebration of Earth Day the club will be picking up trash at Keith Rider Park.
Loganne Werner did a demonstration on cake decorating items. The club sampled glitter sprinkles, small pearls, and sherbet pearls. She also discussed different types of icing.
John Werner did a demonstration on cooking. He made several flavored glazes. The club sampled sugar cookies with their choice of coconut, Lemon, vanilla, and orange glaze. They also used pearls and sprinkles. The activity for the month was planting herbs. Each member planted lavender or basil seeds in biodegradable containers to be started indoors. August – work on record books – looking at maybe the 24th or 26th down at the 4h office. Will discuss with club members when it gets closer.
Minutes from January 2017 Meeting-
Meeting was called at 3:06pm at Molly Parkers house.
We discussed if the club needed to fundraise. Club decided funds are okay. We discussed and decided on community services. They are valentines for the elderly and trash pick up. Molly had her wood working presentation. She showed us the beginnings of her lamp and tools she is using. The activity was making wood snowmen. Meeting was adjourned at 3:40 pm.
