My name is Taci Raben and I am majoring in Agroecology and have a minor in Horticulture. I am going to graduate in Spring 2012 and am looking forward to entering the real world. I am still trying to think about what I want to do after college, I know I want to use all the information that I have learned in my classes. I have loved being in the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources and am going to miss it when I graduate. My favorite part about attending the College of Ag has been seeing past professors always remember their students and say hi when walking down the hall. It gives students a feeling of belonging.
This week is advising week and every student should be talking to their advisor to pick out their class schedule. My meeting was an exciting one… I only need two more classes to graduate! Where has the time gone? College goes by so fast, so I suggest that everyone should enjoy it while they can. Also this week I finished a project I was working on with my advisor, Karen Panter. I needed one extra credit to fulfill a requirement, so what I did was record data on the difference between two cold frames and their ability to produce vegetables and strawflowers. It finally got cold enough to kill all of the plants; now all I need to do is work on the paper. This semester has been pretty easy in terms of classes so I have been working more hours at my part-time job at the Brown and Gold. I would recommend every student to have a job during college. I have spending money, meet a lot of new people, and because I have less time to do homework, am more motivated. The game this weekend is against TCU… everyone better bundle up!
