Wow! Where did this semester go? I can’t believe that it’s almost April and I am getting ready to complete my sophomore year here at the University of Wyoming! This year has really been packed with activities and events. I have enjoyed my first year as an Ag Ambassador and have appreciated the opportunities that being an Ag Ambassador have provided me. I worked with other Ag Ambassadors to present information to prospective students at Discovery Days and completely enjoyed working with the other students and our guests. I hope that all prospective students choose to attend the University of Wyoming and the College of Agriculture – we are the BEST! While visiting with the prospective students I had the opportunity to reflect upon my primary reasons for attending UW’s College of Ag and Natural Resources including: a wonderful college tour, visits and interviews with faculty, the educational requirements for my degree were clearly delineated and very well organized, and a multitude of wide ranging extracurricular activities.
As I end my sophomore year and prepare to apply to the Didactic program in Nutrition and Dietetics this fall, I know that I made the best choice in attending UW. I am a member of UW’s Honors program and the sorority Delta, Delta, Delta, I am secretary of the American Associate of Family and Consumer Science and a member of Phi Upsilon Omicron, the Family and Consumer Science Honor Society. I have enjoyed many of the concerts, movies, and other programs that the Student Activities Council, Friday Night Fever and Campus Activities Center provide for students. I am currently working on setting up my schedule for next fall and while I will enjoy my summer at home, I am excited to see the progress on the Half Acre Gym and the Marian H. Rochelle Gateway Center, both of these construction projects will add to the campus. Life at UW is always busy and I encourage you to fully involve yourself in your education, campus life and other opportunities because you are responsible for creating the YOU that you want to be! Finish this semester strong and enjoy your summer!
