Sometimes the opportunities available within the University and beyond can be somewhat overwhelming with such an availability of options. But don’t people say, “you only regret the chances you didn’t take”? In my time spent here, I’ve come to realize there is so much truth within this statement. I have done my best to fill my plate to its maximum capacity, sometimes to the point of overload. Fortunately, I wouldn’t have it any other way! I’m so thankful for the people and places I have had the chance to connect with at work, cross country and track, and various clubs in and outside of the University. There isn’t quite another time in our lives where we can seek out exposure to so many different life opportunities than when we are college students.
We didn’t make it this far by being stagnant or just going with the flow! I encourage you to put yourself out there and really make the most out of the time you have here! Lace up those shoes, saddle that horse, and cast that line! These opportunities may not be available to you forever, so take them while you’ve got them! Cash into your memory bank and your toolbelt of life skills. If your plans don’t quite workout as you imagined they would, that’s okay! Stand up, brush yourself off and prepare yourself for that next chance!
