Lab Field Trips

Well, school has really picked up now. I have completed my first test of the semester, and I’m studying for a couple coming up next week. Some of my classes are going to be challenging; but what do we learn if we aren’t challenged? One of the best parts about being in the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources is the lab field trips. I have got to spend quite a bit of time looking at soils and plants; both in the Snowies and in the Laramie range. The concepts from lecture really get a chance to come to life and become applicable when seen in the field. In a previous soils class, I became familiar with the twelve soil orders. But in the field the details of a soil order are so much clearer. Range Club and Wyoming Collegiate Cattle Association are both revving up for a new year, and that’s keeping me busy in my spare time.
