Looking back…

Do you remember what it was like trying to decide what college you were going to attend? For me, it seems like it was just yesterday. This weekend I was lucky enough to have another first hand look at the experience. Discovery Days includes a number of events designed to introduce visitors to the UW experience in a group setting. Along with several other ambassadors, I was part of a student panel that sought to inform students potentially entering the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources. This got me thinking about my experience within the college…

Early on, if you had told me I would be graduating with a degree in agriculture, I would have thought you were nuts! To my pleasant surprise, after entering my degree program (Agriculture Communications) I soon came to realize that there is so much more to the college than farming and ranching. In fact, there are many programs that I wouldn’t have even thought were in the college. For example, I found out that I could add an interior design minor to my degree. This was an exciting addition to my already versatile class load.

Along with the varied course selection, the faculty within the college was so helpful with trying to guide and help me figure out what my ultimate goals were. I am so lucky to have been exposed to opportunities that may not have been available elsewhere.

If had to do it all over I wouldn’t change a thing.
