The College of Agriculture and Natural Resources has so many opportunities available to its students. There are not only scholarship opportunities, but many internships and hands on, real world experience.
Before attending UW, I did not have many opportunities in agriculture. Last year, I was very fortunate to receive an internship through the National Western Stock Show. I worked in the Horse Show department and was able to plan and carry out many of the ticket events. I was also given the opportunity to work on several of the livestock auctions. This was my favorite portion of the internship as I will be attending auctioneer school in summer of 2016. I made several connections that I would never have been able to make had it not been for this internship. I fell in love with the people I worked with and the tasks that I performed. So much so, that I applied for the position again this year, and will be returning to do it all again this coming January.
Through this opportunity, I used several of the skills I have learned in my four years here at UW and learned many things that will carry me to graduation and beyond!
