The Finishing of a Chapter

November. I can hardly believe that it is November already. There has been so much going on, so much to do this semester that September and October seemed almost nonexistent. From classes to Range Club to Ag Ambassadors, I have always had something to do and occupy my interest and time. As the time is flying by, I crossing a bunch of ‘lasts’ off of my list. I will be graduating in the spring and that has put things in a new perspective for me. I completed my last advising appointment and registered for my final undergraduate classes at the university. This meeting really drove home the point that I am writing the final words of my college chapter. It is an exciting and frightening prospect.
Soon, I will be attending my final state and national Society for Range Management meetings where I will be competing for the last time. After my years in FFA and my years in the Range Club, it is a crazy thought to think that I will be completing my years of competitions within a few short months. These final events with the Range club follow many other ‘lasts’ that I have experienced. This semester I have participated in my last Ag Day BBQ and attended my last Brand of Excellence Scholarship banquet. These have been bittersweet moments. I have always enjoyed these events and being able to attend these events one last time was wonderful, but now I’m done. These events go far in reminding me how great the College of Agriculture is.
The College of Ag is a place where we can be ourselves and work closely with our peers and instructors to not only improve ourselves but also the college. I am so glad that I chose the College of Ag. It has allowed me to explore and find myself. I will be graduating a better person because of the opportunities that the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources presented me with. Experiencing the events of my final semesters has me thinking about what the future holds. I am excited for what the future holds. The unknown is scary, but it holds promise.
Always remember the past; it is where you come from. Look towards the future and the opportunities it holds. But always live in the present, because it passes quickly.
