Spring is Here!

Spring Break has come and gone and it went by so fast. Being back in Nevada was wonderful, especially with all of the calves running around. While I was home, I was offered a job after my graduation next year. It is an exciting prospect and could give the opportunity to employee the knowledge I have been gaining here at the university. Until next summer however, I will be working for the Natural Resource Conservation Service Elko Field office in northern Nevada.

But before the summer comes, there are still two months left of this semester. My next two months are going to be quite fast-paced, and that is okay. I love this time of year. The weather is getting nicer, the days are getting longer, the cows are calving, and there is always something to do. I am currently helping organize the UW Range Club year end banquet and organize the Second Integrated Ranch Management Symposium (IRMS) that the club will host the week after finals finish up. I am so excited for this year’s IRMS. The presenters that we have lined up this year are amazing and really know their stuff. There are going to be presentations and workshops about marketing, monitoring, livestock handling, and unit-cost production. There is going to something for nearly every agriculture interest. Until May, I am going to enjoy the spring and what remains of my courses this semester.

Have a wonderful spring and enjoy the remainder of the semester everyone.
Mandy
