The Challenge

Coming into college I was challenged by a mentor of mine to try and meet two new people a day. Being an introvert made this challenge quite frightening; however, I would say it has made one of the biggest impacts on my life. Put into a new environment where I had nothing to lose and everything to gain allowed me to succeed in this challenge. I successfully met new people each day the first semester of college. I have continued to talk with some of the very first people I met throughout my college career and each of them have made a tremendous impact on my life. Not only was it a benefit on campus to participate in this challenge but the biggest impact came from when I applied it to the RSO I decided to join, the UW Ranch Horse Team.

I was very nervous to join the UW Ranch Horse Team, I had grown up showing horses but was worried about riding at the college level. With applying the challenge to the newly joined RSO I quickly made friends who have turned into family. Two of the biggest pieces of advice I would give to incoming students would be to try and apply this challenge to your life and secondly to join an RSO or club sport and become as involved as your schedule allows. The UW Ranch Horse Team has been an instrumental piece to my success here at the University of Wyoming.
