A Variety of Classes

Hello again!

Well the semester is in full swing again and time is flying! Just to tell you a little about my classes this semester; I am taking Natural Resources Planning and Economics, Ag Finance, Management of Reproduction, Behavioral Management of Grazing Herbivores, and my PE credit. The first two classes are in the department of AG and Applied Economics, the third in Animal Science, and fourth Rangeland Ecology and Watershed Management. I mention this to show you the variety of classes that are available within the various departments in the college of Agriculture. These are all very fun classes and even though they are in three different departments they all count towards my degree.

Last time I talked a little about my job at the meat lab and involvement with the meat judging classes/team. I also mentioned Food Science Club; I am currently the Vice President of this club. My involvement with this club has been one of my best college experiences. We get together twice a month to have dinner (we take turns cooking) and discuss items on our agenda. In order to raise funds, we run a catering service and cater several big events such as the annual Ag Day BBQ. We have guest speakers come to tell us about various things from high altitude baking to food safety.  Food Science Club is a Recognized Student Organization and I highly recommend checking us out when you get to UW! Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions!

Cheers,
